Tianna's Story
Being around animals my whole life...I have grown to love all animals and thoroughly enjoy spending time with them. When I was fifteen years old, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Humane Society in Phoenix, AZ. After that, I went on to volunteer at the Phoenix Zoo. In both tasks, I was educating adults and children about all kinds of animals, from dogs and cats all the way to reptiles and amphibians. Eventually, I met a good friend that bred and showed Bull Terriers. I started working for her as kennel help, assisting her at shows, and evenually started taking care of her litters. It was a great deal of fun and that's when I really gained my love for dogs. She introduced me to a groomer who taught me how to groom dogs. When I moved to Florida to go to school, I bought my first dog a miniature schnauzer named Lady. She was a challenge of experience and patience, which led me to the doors of Best Paw Forward in Sanford. The time spent at the training center and with the trainers allowed me to grow exponentially with my knowledge and "problem child". We eventually started competing in agility competitions. I then got a second dog, another miniature schnauzer named Cyder, to do agility along with Lady. I was also fortunate enough to be able to compete in obedience with Cyder. Eventually, I found my way to a job at AVS (Affiliated Veterinary Specialists) in Maitland. I was hired as a receptionist, but managed to find myself in back a lot to watch and learn about the medical aspects of animals. It was a wonderful job that I stayed with for two and a half years. I left that job to become a stay at home mom when I became pregant with my second son. While staying at home with my oldest son, Javon, I spent more time training my two schnauzers and started getting Javon involved with agility as well. Now, after our third child, my husband has decided to stay at home to allow me to get back to my passion...animals. I am, finally, back in the work force ready to please all the four legged friends that we all can't live without! Jason's Story I was born and raised in Central Florida. I have had pets all my life and have never found one that I haven't gotten along with. When I met my wife, the first thing we agreed on was how an animal should be treated. Through the years, she convinced me to go to obedience classes at Best Paw Forward with my Bull Mastiff puppy, Athena. Now, Athena is older, but we still continue to train her. I love and respect all animals as well and always have. I have a lot of experience and knowledge of local wildlife and most domesticated animals. Through the years, I have owned and cared for dogs, cats, exotic fish, snakes, lizards, birds, rodents (including squirrels), amphibians, and children. I have decided to stay at home to take care of our two legged animals (our 3 kids), but I will be playing second string when and if needed. In other words, both of us are willing to do whatever it takes to make you and your pets happy. When you call to schedule an interview with us, don't be surprised if we both come to meet you. That way, we can make sure we are all comfortable with the arrangements. |
